Perform with Emma Bassett is a combination of dance, acting and singing techniques taught within the class with a professional approach. All lessons are taught personally by Emma who is fully qualified, experienced and passionate about all aspects of the performing arts.
Perform with Emma Bassett prides itself in building a child’s confidence and improving their self-esteem for their everyday lives, as well as learning new skills for stage. Whilst having lots of fun and building new friendships your child receives quality training in a safe and positive environment.
Pupils learn skills in each discipline making them an all-round performer. Your child learns different techniques in dance such as popular street dance routines, jazz, contemporary, character and choreography skills. Classes improve posture, co-ordination and fitness too.
In acting children explore creativity through improvisation and stretch their imaginations within role play, developing their social awareness and communication skills. Acting improves their social skills, public speaking, reading, and speech. Working individually and as part of a team they learn how to project their voices which allows them to become more confident to speak out in a group or to an audience.
In singing, breathing exercises and vocal techniques are studied, different rhythms and time signatures are experimented with and a repertoire of popular songs and musical theatre songs are learnt.
Perform with Emma Bassett puts on annual shows at professional theatres such as The York Grand Opera House where a collaboration of show pieces are presented to a large scale audience. We also perform at local events such as galas, community performances, end of term presentations and our own holiday schools to name only a few.
